We call these activities achieving the sustainable community development, "The Kunigami Tourism".

Activity 1: Human Resource Development

KUTA hosts workshops to educate local people on forest environment and the sustainable community development.

KUTA hosts study trips to Australia.


Activity 2: Environmental & Cultural Conservation

KUTA conducts cleanup campaigns at local recreation area, community area 4 times a year.

KUTA encourages local businesses to conduct cleanup at community area and its surroundings.

KUTA promotes to establish general recreational guidelines at Hiji Waterfall to sustain natural resources at the popular recreational destination.

KUTA cooperate local schools and groups with their environmental programs for children.
KUTA conducts nature observation programs for children in local community, 6 times a year.


Activity 4: Promote Local Community Development

KUTA provides various nature tour programs presented by local people who have participated in the appropriate training programs.

KUTA participates domestic and international symposiums and exhibits to present about KUTA's activities and share the experiences on sustainable community development.

KUTA publishes bimonthly newsletter to report on local events, seasonal interests in Kunigami as well as KUTA's activities.

KUTA hosts annual scarecrow festival in Kunigami village.
